Photographs. These photos are close-ups of tree bark or cross sections, an early approach to abstraction that predates and informs my subsequent work in digital graphics. I was inspired by 20th-century abstract paintings with an emphasis on texture and nuance, and began with the aim to bring some of that concept into photography that transforms surface artifacts into new compositions. |
